Can I place orders when the market is closed?

Yes, as an after-market order (AMO). SAHI holds it and sends it to the exchange when the market opens. A regular order sent while the market is closed gets rejected.

AMOs work only for limit and stop loss limit orders, and not on expired contracts. Until the market opens, the order shows as Open with no placed time. You can modify or cancel it while it waits.
