SAHI's commodities trading is now live

For months, one request kept showing up in our feedback, our support tickets, and our community group. Traders who already used SAHI for Equity and F&O kept asking the same question: when is commodities coming?

Today, it's here.

You can now trade Crude Oil, Gold, Silver, Natural Gas and more, right inside the SAHI app you already use. No new download, no separate account, no different login. Just commodities, added to the platform the way you asked for it.

Why this took the time it did

Commodities isn't a small add-on. It meant building a rate card, adding contract support across SAHI Charts and order flow, all while making sure every part of the experience felt like SAHI, not like a bolted-on feature from somewhere else. We wanted commodities to feel exactly as fast, exactly as simple, and exactly as familiar as the F&O trading you already know. That took time to get right, and we'd rather have taken that time than shipped something that felt like a different app wearing our logo.

What's actually live

Trade with the capital you have

Not every trader wants to commit a full lot to try something new. That's why commodities on SAHI also include Mini and Micro contract sizes, Crude Oil Mini, Silver Mini and Silver Micro, Gold Mini, Gold Guinea, and Gold Petal among them, so you can start small and size up only when you're ready. A full Gold lot is 1 kilogram. A Gold Petal lot is 1 gram. The gap between those two numbers is exactly why the smaller contracts exist.

What it costs

Commodity F&O trades on SAHI at a flat Rs 10 per executed order, the same rate you already pay on Equity F&O, with zero brokerage for your first 30 days. Commodity F&O also carries a Commodity Transaction Tax of just 0.01% on the sell side, well below the Securities Transaction Tax on Equity F&O, which runs from 0.05% to 0.15% depending on whether it's a futures or options trade, also charged only on the sell side.

Same funds, same account, one login

Your Equity and F&O funds already work for commodities. Nothing to transfer, nothing to set up separately. If your income proof for F&O is on file from the last 12 months, we already have what we need, and activation typically takes 24-48 hours. If it's been longer, or you haven't submitted one before, a quick document upload, a bank statement, salary slip, DP holding statement, ITR acknowledgement, or Form 16, gets you there in the same 24-48 hour window.

Why now

We built this because enough of you asked for it, clearly and repeatedly, that it stopped being a maybe and became a when. Commodities markets move on different triggers than equities, a supply announcement, a rate decision, a geopolitical headline, and that gives you a new lens on the same trading day.
