How does Live P&L work on my Holdings?

Sahi updates your portfolio P&L in real time during market hours, so you always know exactly how your holdings are performing, both for the day and since you first bought.

Types of P&L shown on Holdings:

P&L Type Formula What it tells you
Day's Gain (₹) (LTP – Previous Close) × Qty How much your holding has gained or lost today relative to yesterday's closing price.
Day's Gain (%) Day's Gain / (Previous Close × Qty) × 100 Day's move as a percentage of yesterday's value.
Total Return (₹) (LTP – Avg. Cost) × Qty Your overall unrealised profit or loss since you first bought the stock.
Total Return (%) Total Return / Invested Value × 100 Total return as a percentage of your invested capital.

Overall Portfolio Summary:

At the top of the Holdings screen, Sahi shows a summary header with:

  • Total Invested Value — the sum of all money put into your current holdings.
  • Current Portfolio Value — the live market value of everything you hold right now.
  • Overall P&L — the difference between Current Value and Invested Value, shown in ₹ and %.
  • Today's Change — how much your total portfolio has moved since yesterday's close.

Note: Live P&L on Holdings reflects unrealised gains/losses only. Once you sell a stock, the realised gain/loss appears in your P&L Statement and Tax P&L report — not in the Holdings tab.

Tip: The portfolio summary refreshes automatically. You do not need to pull-to-refresh; prices stream live during market hours.
