BHEL Q1 FY27 Results: On 16 July, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) reported a strong recovery in the first quarter of FY27, driven by strong execution that led to healthy revenue growth and a return to profitability. While revenue and PAT improved on a year-on-year basis, the company saw a quarterly decline following a seasonally strong March quarter. Here is a detailed breakdown of the Q1 FY27 results. 

BHEL Q1 FY27 Results Highlights

  • BHEL reported revenue from operations of 7,697.72 crore in Q1 FY27, registering 40.29% YoY growth from 5,486.91 crore in the same quarter last year. Quarterly, revenue from operations declined 37.47% from Q4 FY26.

  • Total revenue stood at 7,911.86 crore, up 39.83% YoY from 5,658.07 crore. Compared with March quarter, total revenue declined 36.97%.

  • EBITDA (excluding other income) stood at 503.86 crore, compared with an EBITDA loss of 537.14 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting a sharp turnaround in operating performance.

  • Profit After Tax (PAT) came in at 376.71 crore, compared with a net loss of 455.50 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Quarterly, PAT declined 70.81% from Q4 FY26. The company returned to profitability on a year-on-year basis following a loss in Q1 FY26. 

  • PAT margin improved to 4.89%, compared with a negative margin of 8.30% in Q1 FY26, while declining from 10.48% in Q4 FY26.

  • Earnings Per Share (EPS) stood at 1.08, compared with a loss per share of 1.31 in Q1 FY26, while declining from 3.71 in Q4 FY26.

BHEL Q1 Segment-wise Revenue

BHEL's Power segment remained the largest contributor to revenue in Q1 FY27, posting strong 51.83% year-on-year growth. The Industry segment also reported double-digit growth, although both segments saw lower revenue compared with the seasonally strong March quarter.
