Vodafone Idea posted a sharp rise in Q4 FY26 profit after a one-time AGR-related gain, while revenue, EBITDA, and ARPU showed steady operational improvement.
Vodafone Idea Q4 Results: Vodafone Idea reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹11,332 crore in Q4 FY26, up 2.88% YoY. The company posted a consolidated profit after tax of ₹51,970 crore due to a one-time gain.
Vodafone Idea announced its financial results for the quarter ended 31 March 2026 on 16 May 2026. The telecom operator reported a sharp jump in reported profit during March quarter after Department of Telecommunications reassessed the company’s AGR liabilities, resulting in a large exceptional gain.
Consolidated profit after tax stood at ₹51,970 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with a loss of ₹7,167 crore in Q4 FY25 and a loss of ₹5,286 crore in Q3 FY26.

Consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹11,332 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with ₹11,015 crore in Q4 FY25, reflecting a growth of 2.88% year-on-year. Revenue remained almost flat compared with Q3 FY26.
Total income came in at ₹11,436 crore during the quarter, up 1.84% from ₹11,229 crore in the same quarter last year. Compared with Q3 FY26, total income declined 0.69%.
EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹4,889 crore, increased 4.93% year-on-year from ₹4,660 crore reported in Q4 FY25. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, EBITDA rose 1.51% from Q3 FY26.
EBITDA margin improved to 43.14% in Q4 FY26 compared with 42.31% in Q4 FY25 and 42.54% in Q3 FY26. Higher operational efficiencies and stable subscriber revenue supported margin improvement during the quarter.
Consolidated profit after tax stood at ₹51,970 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with a loss of ₹7,167 crore in Q4 FY25 and a loss of ₹5,286 crore in Q3 FY26. The company reported an exceptional gain of ₹57,491 crore during the quarter due to reduction in deferred payment obligation related to AGR after reassessment by the Department of Telecommunications.
Vodafone Idea’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) increased to ₹190 in Q4 FY26 from ₹175 in the same quarter last year, registering a growth of 8.3% year-on-year, according to the company’s press release.
Despite the improvement, Vodafone Idea’s ARPU remains lower than its peers. Bharti Airtel reported an ARPU of ₹257, while Reliance Jio’s ARPU stood at ₹214.
Vodafone Idea’s total subscriber base stood at 192.8 million at the end of the quarter. Out of this, 128.9 million were 4G and 5G users, compared with 126.4 million in the same period last year.
As of 31 March 2026, Vodafone Idea’s total outstanding debt from banks and other lenders stood at ₹4,127 crore. Out of this, ₹726 crore is scheduled for repayment by March 2027, along with the applicable interest.
Vodafone Idea further said that the Aditya Birla Group has committed to infuse $500 million, or around ₹4,730 crore, into the company through the issuance of warrants.
The company reported net cash flows from operating activities of ₹19,411 crore during FY26 compared with ₹9,290 crore in FY25. Cash and cash equivalents increased to ₹2,106 crore at the end of FY26 from ₹257 crore a year ago.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT), through a communication dated 27 January 2026, confirmed Vodafone Idea’s AGR dues stood at ₹87,695 crore as of 31 December 2025. However, the amount was subject to further reassessment. Later, on 30 April 2026, the company received another communication from DoT stating that the committee reviewing the dues had revised AGR liability to ₹64,046 crore for the period FY2006-07 to FY2018-19.
As per the revised payment schedule, Vodafone Idea will pay a minimum of ₹100 crore annually between March 2032 and March 2035. After that, the company will pay ₹10,608 crore every year from March 2036 to March 2041.
Apart from AGR dues, Vodafone Idea also has to pay Spectrum Usage Charges (SUC) of ₹609 crore, along with interest, related to FY2017-18 and FY2018-19. The company will pay this amount in six annual instalments of ₹124 crore between March 2026 and March 2031. Vodafone Idea has already paid the first instalment of ₹124 crore in March 2026.
