LT Order Book: Larsen & Toubro secured multiple mega EPC orders across the iron ore, steel and zinc sectors from leading public and private companies. The projects will support India's expanding metals and mining infrastructure while strengthening L&T's order book.

Larsen & Toubro Order Book: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday announced that its Metals & Minerals (M&M) business has secured multiple mega engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders from leading public and private sector companies in India.

The projects span the iron ore, steel and zinc segments and are aimed at supporting the country's expanding metals and mining infrastructure.

While the engineering major did not disclose the value of the individual contracts, it classifies a "mega" which indicates a huge deal between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore.

L&T orders include iron ore handling and steel plant expansion

One of the contracts has been awarded by a public sector company that is India's largest iron ore producer as part of its plan to increase iron ore production capacity to 100 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030.

The company has also secured an order from a Navratna public sector enterprise for the expansion of its steel plant in West Bengal. The project will increase the plant's production capacity from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA.

L&T will execute multiple Design & Build and Balance of Plant packages for the expansion project.

Private sector zinc project also awarded

In addition to the public sector contracts, L&T has won an EPC order from a leading private sector metals producer for setting up a zinc processing plant.

The scope includes design and engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and related site services.

L&T says orders reinforce EPC leadership

Commenting on the order wins, L&T Chairman and Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan said the projects reaffirm the company's leadership in the metals and minerals EPC sector.

He added that as India accelerates investments in expanding its metals and minerals capacity to support long-term economic growth, L&T remains committed to partnering with leading enterprises to develop world-class industrial infrastructure.

T Kumaresan, Senior Vice President and Head of Utilities & Metals at L&T, said the orders across the mining, ferrous and non-ferrous sectors show customers' confidence in the company's engineering expertise and execution capabilities.

He said L&T remains committed to delivering the projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and sustainability.
